Where can I buy cheap furniture in Tokyo?

I am living near Kamata Station and working in Shinagawa. I need some cheap furniture for my apartment (a clothes rack, some plastic bins etc.). Any suggestions? It would be awesome if you could include directions from Kamata station.

Around Kamata, you can buy cheap furniture at Nitori or Shimachu.
I think Nitori is cheaper.

■ Nitori (ニトリ 横浜鶴見店)
Station: Shitte(尻手), Nanbu line
URL: http://www.nitori.co.jp/

■ Shimachu (島忠 大田千鳥店)
Station: Musashi-shinden(武蔵新田), Tokyu-Tamagawa line

You can find their maps from 店舗情報.

    Kamata, good central location.

Tokyo is expensive. Buying stuff is kind of a pain with only the train to transport it. Most places will send it Kuronekobin though. Some times free too if you buy enough.

How far are you willing to travel? Best and cheapest places are further away than you might like. Budget matters too.

    New to Japan?

If I were you (and I have been there) I would go to the IKEA store at SHINYOKOHAMA station (taking the skinkansen from shinagawa is fastest and simplest) The only thing is that the store is pretty far from the station (no walking) there is a big blue bus to the store as well as taxies. I used to use the taxies and I remember it being about 2,000yen. I think the bus is free. If you are used to that kind of IKEA store you will be fine there and lamps and other small goods are cheapest there. I really wish they had an online store.

Oh yeah it is packed on weekends. If you have a morning off in the week it is best.

Otherwise. In Tokyo you have the Tokyu Hands or like stores they might be of a higher quality but seriously expensive.

Otherwise look for the "HARD OFF" stores (used stuff is still to expensive in my opinion knowing that they get it basically for free to begin with)
