how do i download a sims 2 furniture collection? this is the one i am trying to download

from what i understand i have to download it to the c:/eagames/sims2/collection folder
do i also have to download the meshes? if so where?

OK, on the right hand side you click each object, it will allow you to then download the items.
You will need RAR to do this first.
To install WinRAR, download the file to your computer by clicking on the link on the WinRAR site's download page. You can save it to your hard drive like you did the archive in Step 2. Once it has finished, double-click on the file to run the installer. You should just be able to click next, next, next, etc. to install WinRAR. At the end, click Finish to complete the installation. You will most likely want the top link to the Graphic and Command Line, Trial version.

Click the icon to download the object, it will come up with a box asking to save or open. Click "Open" then it RAR will appear, click "extract item", on the right side of the box will appear files, click "my documents" then click "EA Games" then click "sims 2" then click "download" then OK.
In your game you may have to enable custom content. (not sure what sims 2 game you have) if that's not clicked, once you do enable custom content, back out of your game and re-start it.

If you're using windows you will probably want the WinRAR 3.71 download, found under the English WinRAR and RAR release title.

It says it's a trial but it will work past the trial date.
Once you have WinRar, right click the download (I generally save my downloads to Desktop first), choose Extract files...
A seperate window will pop up. Choose My Documents->EA Games->The Sims 2->Downloads.
If you don't have a downloads folder there, go ahead and make one. Just make sure the "D" is capitalized.
It seems the meshes are included in the downloads.
But back to the link you gave us, look to the left, there is a link for CEP. If you want to see the recolors of that object you will need to follow the CEP link and download that.
Also on the left the site reminds you where to put downloaded files.0% 0 Votes
