What paint color should I use for my dining room which has a royal blue carpet in it.?

I would go for a nice neutral color with warm tones. It will make your space seem bigger too and balance the darker trims. Like a bright off white color.

Light contrast color...Light Beige, light light grey,..Just contrast with a light color.or the room will look way too dark...

Agree with the answers above. Also Yellow. There are a lot of great shades to choose from. Pale yellow if you want to keep it peaceful and neutral, or a vibrant sunny yellow if you want the room to have energy and spark.

Warm colors tend to be inviting; a light color will help keep the room open and make the wood tones pop.

Normally, grays look great with blues, but combined with dark blue and dark wood, it would definitely come off cool and more formal. Taupes, while brownish, can also fall into the gray family but, even when they don't, aren't particularly inviting. Unless you get a lot of all day sunlight in the room, I wouldn't go that route.

A creamy white might look good, but I think any color in the white will be washed out next to the blue/dark wood -- you might as well go all white at that point. If you did a cream color, it'd have to be a very heavy cream... A beige could also work, but it depends on how much brown you want in the room. Personally, I think a creamy beige with yellow or pink tones (see links -- a few that would go imho...) would be best. Either will have a soft inviting glow, but a yellowish-beige will give a more casual, cheery feel to the room since it'll bring out the blue in the carpet; a pinkish-beige will be more subtle, but really bring out the beauty of your wood molding/piano.
