my mom accidently bougtht pine bedding instead of the toilet paper like 1 we usually use... will i be putting my hamster's health @ risk if i use it until we consume it all? should i by the other 1 right away?

Pine won't kill them, but any wood based bedding with a strong odor can cause upper respiratory problems. The oils in the pine bedding can also cause skin problems in some small animals. I always recommend a paper based bedding simply because I find it absorbs moisture better, and also tends to absorb odor instead of just covering it.
I wouldn't buy pine or cedar bedding again, if it can be avoided. Carefresh makes a relatively inexpensive, yet effective bedding that has very little dust and doesn't hurt their sensitive lungs.

- I used pine bedding for my hamster and mice.
Everything was okay. Just google it. - Pine bedding is fine, but never, ever use cedar shavings for any small animal. Cedar oil is toxic to most small animals. Pine shavings are fine; I use it all the time and have for years. I've used it with mice, rats, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, and even snakes. Right now, I have 3 grown hamsters, and one of those has 10 babies. They are all thriving, happy, and healthy.
- Pine is Fine.
- Pine and Cedar are both horrible for any rodent. The contain oils (phenols) that when they come in contact with urine are breathed in by your pet and they can damage the lungs. I would use paper towel or something until you can get to the store to get something else.
- Don't use pine or cedar bedding.
Trust me.
I used to be a fool and used it before.
As a result, my hamster lost a lot of face fur and kept itching.
I recommend aspen, carefresh or paper-based cat litter.

- Should be no problem at all, as a breeder I use nothing but pine. Most of the pine sold in the pet shops is kiln dried, and dust extracted. Once it has been kiln dried, the phenols (Abietic acid,) this is the irritant in pine, (also known as abietinic acid, or sylvic acid) has been dried out.
Kiln dried pine wood shavings can be used without problems.
